Part 2 today

Ok, the direct mailer promotion for early bird of Marathon will be extended to 2 August!

and i have updated my australia trip's photos on my album...

Sports

Have been running quite a bit..last Thu & Sat morning...have been pondering over should we join Marathon this year?Out of 9 runners who ran the 05's full marathon , most are in 2 minds to join again this year, excuses ranges from the pain, heat, torturous and timing issues...one story originates from instructor about running our own country's marathon, get the full picture from her...guess, its addictive in a way that the thought of running the full will slowly seep into ur mind & germinate from there, especially u hv a bunch of zany gals who wans to suffer together and not alone..so the more pple to suffer with u, the more u enjoy the experience..true?? so let's influence everyone to run together!

Today is the last day for early bird sign-up for pple who ran last year...so see if i would click on the website later...and the direct mailer is just sitting right in front me..those who are interested can go to Marathon

30 July - Windsurfing

Okay, not a right and enthu mood abt learning this, thanks to the boring theory lessons & simulator, the fun part was battling the big waves due to the choppy weather, elab later..Have to tell you that we were quite amazed how passionate the windsurfers..how they ran to take their rigs & boards & chiong to the sea..and sail all for a fantastic & wild 20 mins just before a storm...and wait out till the next storm to do this all over again..

Though the condition is superb for experienced windsurfers, it's poor beginners' nightmares... we were constantly battling against crashing waves, avoiding each other, avoiding the breakwater, trying not to slip on the board, trying to haul the heavy sail up & not toppling together with the sail.

Finally, attempts after attempts of clambering onto the slippery board, and balancing against the tossing waves, we sailed!! Lulu was the first one as usual to get it going...erm.. one way...then it was Roy who always have the 'never-say-die' attitude who also sailed one way..all dunno how to come back..so funny..Then it was me!..hee..one way too...great fun, but a lot of effort to learn this sport. Tougher than sailing or wakeboarding, glad i'm conquering the water sports one by one..cos i used to be so afraid of water i don't dare to try..

Rainbow

21 July - Last Fri, spent the night at Ms P's house with Lulu, Ong Mei Mei & Wee2...watched TV & watch them play mahjong....ended up gossiping with the gals til 4am...actually din sleep til like 6am...and went to KK to visit a girlfriend. This girlfriend of mine has diagnosed with ovarian cancer & underwent surgery to remove her ovaries, she's not married...and yet she was so strong & rational about her ordeal..gave new meaning to strong will woman...i was totally upset & nearly cried when we talked about it cos it adds on to the layer of sadness I was feeling... but felt that in a way, it spurs me to get out of my downwards spiral. Meet Shy Rainbow & Gracie for tea at Raffles, again my poor appetite showed up that they perpetually have to keep forcing to eat, which i did and i appreciate it girls, hugz hugz...

23 July - SMRT Challenge, felt good to run around for nearly 5 hrs...same estimated time to complete my adventure race too..funniest moment was actually the 2 teams (NILIPI & my team) was at Redhill (i think) MRT when we met Eddy from SMD, can u imagine the shock of all of our faces... in the end, we didn't win anything...tho terymun's team won a cool sony ericsson hp each, (7 or 8th placing?) despite them being the most athletic-looking team & them SPRINTING from checkpoint to checkpoint.. anyway sticked around to talk to Harris & bitch abt how fat the winners are..we still quite sore we din win :p
Today was the Hair for Hope, NYGH teachers & Boonitay shaved their heads for cancer..i stil dont have the courage to do that, nxt week wil be Bee's turn..Jiayou!!The NY girls cheered them on, visited SW & met me for dinner...missed the girls & nearly got dragged to take Neoprints! anyway they planning for X'mas at SW's plc... this is another cheerful spot in my life now...

Insight...
Rainbow is in sight if I glimpse hard enough through the dark clouds....

Hope the dark clouds will part very soon and my days will be filled with sunshine again....

Activities & Friends to keep me Sane

Although the past 12 days have been emotionally torturous, my life have been dotted with cheerful friends and interesting events that kept me sane & smiling...

12 July
Met the girls (Ms Ong Mei Mei, Ms P, MS Meiren Extreme) in my team for an OC Mtg on SMRT Challenge (which is happening on 23 Jul)..as usual, discussion was lively & full of jokes & fun..of cos, knowing that 2 other teams were the low income, no income(ZXL, HCM, CJ & Lulu) & Mrs Chua + Ms D + their friends...

13 July
Went Dnr with Shy Rainbow..at Bugis...talked & talked..i didn't even have cravings for my fav strawberry strudel...

14 July
Went jogging with the gals..had a good run, refreshes me up, kept breathing hard that u can forget about crying at the same time...Dinner at Lau Pa Sat, had a record low of 2 satay sticks. Decided to sing songs, so we went off and ended by in Chinatown, climbed freaking 5 storeys to our room and sung til 3am..all of us sung & laff until voice hoarse.

15 July
Wakeboard with Lulu & CJ, missed the wind blowing into our face & smell of the sea..the play of the wake and watching each other ride...short 2 hrs but damn, it feels good! Discussed Cambodia trip with Meiren Extr.& Mrs Chua at Chua Villa and firmed up our itinerary..Gotta keep my mind to stop wandering off....met Jenny & Jason and hitched a ride frm them, Jen's tummy is showing up!

16 July
Early morning..Shape Run, luckily have Lulu with me to keep me company, finished in a disgustingly slow pace of 1.17hrs...must thank the only 'runspirator' who woke up early and biked around taking our photos...dissected the goodie bags, barely had appetite to finish half my lunch...

Late Afternoon, Raleigh pple went to Bernice's farm for tea..CP brought his baby boy and each of us took turns to carry him, nice to catch up with the rest whom i din see for close to a yr! how time flies since our last project together..

20 July
Celebrated CJ's bd at Marina South with the usual fanfare of greediness & laughter..must see the photos, tells a lot...first time sat in zxl's van, v comfy at the back..

Just received news that Lynn has given birth to a 3.8kg baby boy! This boy just refused to come out since given the ok by the doctor in late Jun that he wil arrive anytime, and yes..he chose Racial Harmony Day..hmm...

Look forward to Sunday's challenge...

when the sky is no longer blue

when the clouds are no longer white
when the mood is no longer light
i wonder why does the sun still shines

when the wind no longer blow
when the birds no longer sing
when the ants no longer work
i wonder why do i still breathe

My Real Mood

There comes a time when one will dive into gloom, dread & nothingness...everything seems bleak, hopeless.. this is how i feel

You felt hope, but it's gone
You thought there's chance, it has passed
the tiniest of hint, meant nothing
Took too long to feel the hurt
Too late for anything
Droplets of desperation, frustration & anger

Reached into the deepest darkest chasm of loneliness
Distraction is only temporary,
how I wish it can erase everything

Silence of the night
Just me and my thoughts
If only I can turn back time

Oxford to London

I'm now back in London, experienced 2 funny (on the hindset)encounters ...this time back in the hostel room! My hostel room mates are fond of bringing guys back to the room...they sleep at unearthly hours, wake up late, eat late...vulgarities spewing from their mouth everytime ...

Anyway, i visited Christ Church college in Oxford and it is beautiful!! they filmed Harry Potter's Main Hall where they have their meals, the Teachers' table and the staircases from the Main Hall!! How cool is that? And Lewis Carroll got his inspiration while he is a Maths lecturer right here at the college. The Little Green Door, the panelled door where Alice disappeared from, the stuffed Dodo-birds (from Museum of Nat Science), and so many anecdotes that existed all around the college!

Its evening now, stil warm...takikng tmr's night flight wil be back in Sg..home in 2 days time...

Oxford & Hot Summer

The moment i reached Oxford, it has been sweltering hot! comparable to Sg's weather man...and in the bus or room, where they don't have air-con or good ventilation, can die..

Things I have discovered these 10 days
1. It's no big deal to travel alone! I have met girls or ladies who have travelled for 2-5 months ALONE! then when they asked me..i replied with a weak laugh 'A week...' and back home, it's deemed a 'big thing' if u travelled alone..

2. I can travel without a companion for only a week..start to miss my travelling friends exactly on 30 June...when See Moo Moo is suppose to join me but due to exorbitant airfares, decided not to...

3. It is still possible to lose your own voice due to under-usage...cos i tried to sing when i was walking on some meadow and i can't cos it's hoarse!! strange hor....

4. Trips are better planned than leave it to good luck cos i experienced hiccups in transportation & accommodation, especially on weekends or unexpected influx of tourists during that period of time.

5. Shops in England stop operating in the late afternoon i.e 6pm(earlier if it's at the ulu areas), some are completely closed on Sunday.

6. There are tremendous history about REAL people in England and awed by the overwhelming about who do what in this city...eg. Tolkien studied in Oxford, looked up ancient runes at his college library(is it Merton? cant remember). Jane Austen lived in Bath & Cheltenham for a period of time...wrote her books while there..

7. English are very polite, guys are gentlemenly but not nec v gd looking lah..everyone is super-friendly,received smiles everytime, even walking down the streets..make ur day feel better too..

8. They alway like to say 'Are you all right there?'...Everything is either 'Wonderful or Lovely...', even if it is not..

Look forward to going home now..and having a long jog at East Coast
