Swing Swing

One fine late afternoon just before her bath, we decided to bring JY out to the playground, thinking the novelty will keep her intrigue and curious. Throughout the half an hour we were there, she has this pensive, brooding look as if she's thinking about serious matter.

JY kept being distracted by something else, her attention was somewhere else and not on the swing & her father.

It was WJ's turn to carry her on the swing..no matter how hard we try to get her attention and for her to smile, she still looks unimpressed with the playground and uninterested with the swing.
This little girl has a mind of her own and she decides her own mood no matter how hard to try.

She only manages a half smile and doesn't she look like WJ!

We decided to head back home to give her evening bath, JY loves to get a high elevated view from WJ's shoulder. She was grabbing WJ's hair and still manages to twist and turn her way to look at the dogs and children playing.

She caught sight of me tailing behind and i love this cute photo of them..:)

Do you really know, Baby?

It's another one of those episodes that you wonder do they really know that much despite their short time on earth.

Episode #1 : My mum just bathe JY and we all know how she hates lying on her back & cries hard to avoid lying down.

My mum : "JY, popo gonna lie you down and wear your diapers ok?
JY clung to her and shook her head, looking at my mum.
Stunned, my mum spoke again :"JY, be good girl, i need to like you down to wear your diapers, i promised to be fast.'
JY: whimpered, whimpered but conceded...

Episode #2: We all know she loves to stand up & she always eagerly heave herself up from lying position by holding on to our fingers. After a full dinner, my mum cautioned me from feeding her milk directly from me "Just 1 side will do, don't overfeed"..well, JY refused to be short-changed by me and refused to get up from my bed until she's finished with both sides

Episode #3: One weekday afternoon, my dad was playing with her in the living room and decided to test her "Eh, mummy..your mummy is back from work!" She glanced up at the main door and with no mummy in sight, she immediately turned her head and look at my room's door expectantly to see me appearing at the door-frame. My dad & mum were so taken aback & amused that she actually know where to look for me....

Episode #4: After a week of 2 daily milk feeds, she is attuned to where her milk bottles are kept & the kitchen is a place where she sees her milk being prepared. She now directed my mum, using torso twists, towards a milk bottle and insisted my mum to go into the kitchen to prepare her milk so that she can drink.

Panda Mum

For close to 8 months, i have not had the luxury to sleep uninterrupted through the night. Initially i thought as a young baby, they will definitely make a fuss in the first few months. As i learnt to nurse her to sleep besides me, it got worse as i fell asleep too and it suits her perfectly as to lull herself to sleep, latched on to me for an hour or so, until i woke up in horror.

I tried to wean her off me and she protested strongly with her loud and sharp cries for as long as we remembers in the wee hours several times a night. Then my mum said, she actually heard J'Ys stomach growl with hunger a few times she carried her. I relented and it's back to the lying down nursing position.

It grew more and more impossible to wean her off as i tried to limit her latching on me, she purposely screamed loudly and refused to back down for an hour. I'm so tired to keep fighting her every night and it's a losing battle for me. As her screams will send the grandmas scurrying to see why i'm not feeding her and making her cry like that. I'm still so tired...Should the next one come along, i'm so determined to sleep train him/her.

So any miracle cure for panda eyes are welcomed....

Dinner @Marina Square

We had a super early dinner at Pu Tien Restaurant last Saturday and while waiting for them to get ready for the dinner crowd. JY played her favourite game, Peekaboo cum Search for Grandma.

Grandma, play with me...

Where is Grandma?

Found Grandma!

WJ feeding JY dinner...
.and i was the slave picking up toys & stuff dropped from her high chair....

Little Xena

Since as a tender baby@3months, she possessed powerful frog legs and from her tendencies to stand, we reckon her legs are still strong, if not stronger.

Recently, we discovered she has strong arms & abs too...

Strong arms cos she'll lift up her bumbo playtray & flip it 360degree around, sometimes she'll stretch over and lift up the square biscuits tin beside the bumbo chair, shake it around and crash it to the floor.

Strong abs cos when she's being lifted up horizontally, she'll straighten her legs. How many adults can do that now?

Books, Books and Books

Jingyi enjoys books but she's too impatient to flip through the pages of the books and prefers to play, munch and chomp down on the books...especially the cute little handy books bought by her Godma. Though we have no idea what shapes her preference, she prefers certain books from the teethmarks around the corners.

Then there's this book where she can touch the 'soft furry hair' of rabbit & other animals, she'll diligently wait for my mum to bring her through all the pages so she can touch and feel the texture. Then there's this colourful NUMBER book, she sits on the lap of WJ's dad and patted his thigh when she is finished with the page and wants him to flip to the next. Well, you can imagine how astonished the grandparents are to see the progress of this cutie pie.
