Oxford & Hot Summer
The moment i reached Oxford, it has been sweltering hot! comparable to Sg's weather man...and in the bus or room, where they don't have air-con or good ventilation, can die..Things I have discovered these 10 days
1. It's no big deal to travel alone! I have met girls or ladies who have travelled for 2-5 months ALONE! then when they asked me..i replied with a weak laugh 'A week...' and back home, it's deemed a 'big thing' if u travelled alone..
2. I can travel without a companion for only a week..start to miss my travelling friends exactly on 30 June...when See Moo Moo is suppose to join me but due to exorbitant airfares, decided not to...
3. It is still possible to lose your own voice due to under-usage...cos i tried to sing when i was walking on some meadow and i can't cos it's hoarse!! strange hor....
4. Trips are better planned than leave it to good luck cos i experienced hiccups in transportation & accommodation, especially on weekends or unexpected influx of tourists during that period of time.
5. Shops in England stop operating in the late afternoon i.e 6pm(earlier if it's at the ulu areas), some are completely closed on Sunday.
6. There are tremendous history about REAL people in England and awed by the overwhelming about who do what in this city...eg. Tolkien studied in Oxford, looked up ancient runes at his college library(is it Merton? cant remember). Jane Austen lived in Bath & Cheltenham for a period of time...wrote her books while there..
7. English are very polite, guys are gentlemenly but not nec v gd looking lah..everyone is super-friendly,received smiles everytime, even walking down the streets..make ur day feel better too..
8. They alway like to say 'Are you all right there?'...Everything is either 'Wonderful or Lovely...', even if it is not..
Look forward to going home now..and having a long jog at East Coast
