London & Canterbury
Back in London after exactly 15 mths, sound/look the same, altho warmer.. quite zonked out...din sleep much on plane. had craving for four season's duck rice!! absolutely KO and slept till early nxt morning..gotta confess that this trip is not planned at all from the start..acomm/places and all not booked...so decided to just travel when i want..so excited & first for me, didnt know what to expectAt 10am..I reached Victoria Underground, bought a bus ticket to Canterbury for £11.40 2 hrs to reach Canterbury..booked a night, female dorm at Kipp's Independent Hostel..nice & clean place, dorm of 7 bunk beds, shared bathroom with a dog name Cuba!!
2pm, booked myself a guided tour, grab a sandwich & walked around the quaint old medieval town...reminds me of Toledo & Granada, not that much crowd tho'...i walked into the Cathedral & sat at the Cloisters for some time...it's nearly 5pm..so nothing to do next, i eat............
WHITTARD CREAM TEA....
greedy me also ate fish & chips..and went back to the hostel to have an early night.
so i bathe & sat at the living room watching world cup & writing my journal...this elderly man, in his 50s or 60s, sat besides me & started to chat with me..just normal conversation..where we heading nxt n stuff...THEN he showed me this phamplet (on this disused railway caravan parked beisde Dartmoor stream, unique experience of accommodation..named Toad & Tadpole)and invited me to stay with him!!saying 'oh, the room has two seperate beds, u can come stay with me if u wan to'..'my offer stil stands, u take down my mobile, give me a call if u wan to come'....i was scared stiff!! wahlau....i dunno how to react...just graciously turn down his offer, saying 'my gf is meeting me at bath...appreciate ur offer..tt's so kind of u...blah'...after a while, i got the hell out of the living room & went straight to the dorm & lock the door...:/
the next morning, i got up real early & left at 8am...phew..the hostel is really nice, good recommendation by LP. so yes, my next place...Rye..never hear before? neither do i...
