Expedition
Wondering how to blog in a concise but systematic way..but realise it's not my style..like i started the expedition faithfully writing my journal every night until 4 Jun when i was too tired n stoned to continue & i only manage to pen down my thoughts on the 9 Jun when i cant really remember much so i randomly jot down my thoughts.31 May 06, Wed Singapore - Krabi, Ao Nang
Early morning, we gathered at 4am at the new Budget Terminal (BT) for all the girls, one of the girls had trouble with her passport BECAUSE she took matters in her own hands and pasted her recent photo at the last page of her passport!!! but she manage to get through customs & arrived in Thailand. was a hassle getting almost 30 pple to clear customs & check-in/clear the luggage..each of us are given a cute orange NYGH logo, so easily recognised.

We met Raleigh Thai, Ben & Jin (husband-wife team) at the Krabi Airport and we left for our acommodation, at this very clean & nice accommodation at Noppharatthara Beach Pee Pee National Park, I quite like the feel of the accommodation that we'll be spending the next 10 days.
This is where i love to sit after when we come back frm work, i'll stone for a few moments & look out to the sea...
Gals were generally unresponsive & lethargic, we went to a Ao Nang local school, Nong Talay Wittaya School, muslim school...NY gals were totally overwhelmed by the warm hospitality shown by the local students & teachers. they were treated like VIPs, given little desserts, sung songs, lined up to receive garlands of jasmine formally & individually...and played games with the local kids..Olivia was keeping scores so i went over to check on her, she told me the thai boys asked for her number & she's quite scared..hah...she's a cute gal, artistic gymnastic.. Generally, the gals were charmingly shy just not gracious enough to reciporate the kind gesture of the host.
Debrief for the Day: They were caught unaware & realise they should be more gracious to the host & stunned by the warm welcome they received. Reflected how NYGH receive guests from overseas and how they were received in Ao Nang..good start for my Apples...
Daily debrief at the patio of one the bungalow
Day Leader: Gwen, responsible & intellectual girl who i think was a little culture shocked & homesick...
1 Jun 06, Thu - 3 Jun, Sat
2 girls took turns to be IC of the days...
Breakfast always at 8am , everyday we'' take a slow & scenic walk along the beach to reach the restaurant.
The ride at a lorry/truck was always eventful & the girls apparently enjoyed the bumpy rides and they'll sing plenty of songs to entertain us, spew girly stuff tt made me laugh.
Ride of Their Lifetime
Apples took up the work of sawing, drilling holes & painting the planks with the BPP, Huiying got the thumbs up for best 'sawer', and prawn & prawn fan club was set up cos mr seah (husband of mrs seah who came alg to also look after the gals at his own expenses) was so cool! according to the girls...they totally idolised him...they even hv president, treasurer, blah blah.
My apples: Huikuan (OMG gang), Jasmine (OMG Gang), Z Yiting (Quiet, artistic, intelligent), Jingwei(Grp Ldr: Wailing siren dancer), Shufeng (asked lots of questions, sweet & garang gal), Huiying (Quiet, steady with potential), Zhouxuan (Smart, responsible) , Bernice (doesnt seem what she looks like!!)
We went up the hike the next day to tie & demarcate the route up, the girls werent prepared & din bring enough water, and they weres stumbling & needed a lot of help along the way but they made it to the viewpoint 2 where the other members din go expect for BPP! so proud of them! we made it to the summit a few days later, lugging cement, 2L of water & our lunch..Phi Phi island & Phuket can be seen from the top! its so surreal..
Bright smiles though they are super tired
In the meantime, the girls were cooking up their own fantasy fairy tale about me & ' imaginary other half' but they were really sweet & at the end of the expedition, just gave them a big big hug that they deserved..
