8 March 2008

Preparation started in July. Thought shld be simple, since both wj & me are seldom indecisive and with WJ's ACTIVE participation (instead of being an onlooker), we had a easy time, or so we thought...

Choose Bridal Gown
- quick simple affair of popping by the 1st bridal shop, picked one of the first few gowns I tried, and its down to the package details. wat's hilarous was the man pushed loads of ' useless goodies' which we refused, the more he tried to give us 'more valuable' goodies. final deal: $2888 with all the essential items.

Choose Hotel
- Beautiful bungalow Spaboutique w beautiful outdoor pavilion. Purple Sage & Azalea doing the catering & flowers but high costs...venue alone cost $8k, so disappointed.
- Raffles Hotel, old ballroom but nice outdoor grass lawn. but must build marquees, scare rain....add to costs even more.......out.......
- explored fleeting thoughts to hold at Sentosa, troublesome transportation
- Regent Hotel, through recommendation, affordable costs & quality food but inconvenient location...
- Shangri-la too far & exp; Fullerton booked up
- Finally we settled on Goodwood Park: Convenient location, free on 8 Mar, nice ambience, quite affordable...and ITS SET!
- We wanted a separate function for relatives (Lunch buffet w good old ballroom style)
- I would love to have a garden party with friends so we arranged to hv poolside alfresco dinner..
(still be sheltered under heavy rain & accessible to main building)

Who to invite (THIS IS THE HEADACHE)
- I have so much trouble keeping to my invite list, it kept threatening to burst the limits, so i hv to cut & cut!....on the other hand, i can be re-assured that those turning up are the pple i reallllllllly will enjoy the celebrations with....

Accessories
Thnks to my brilliant sister, i got a GOOD shoe buy. a champagne gold heels at only $90, truly comfortable and pretty to walk around, the best part, it goes with all my dresses, from gown to 2nd change to evening! YAyyyy....

Make-up Artist
I was a bit worried she'll transform me into a ge-tai singer when i did the studio shoots, but she did such a marvellous job of covering up my bags/dark circles even the next seat's make-up artist said she did a wonderful job....! i must be a tough customer.

I was quite thankful i started the prep earlier and not wait till last min, must be the event mgt skills tt came in useful. we hv firmed up quite a lot of details & invite cards shld b ready soon...

Now the next challenge: Pack my room....urghhh
