JY went to T3 in the morning to send Papa for his work trip. We went to have breakfast with family and spent a good 30mins with the 'Sam Seng Girl'...with the leg hitched up high.
She thoroughly enjoyed her second visit and was unusually quiet as she absorbed in her environment. JY yelped away when she see little children running around the terminal and wanted to give chase to them. She loves strangers and kept staring at them, giving them a shy smile if they played with her.
WJ carried her to and fro us & his colleagues and JY didn't resist when WJ's friends carried her! See the crowd behind? It's all the entourage.... Tho JY loves strangers and crowd, the moment WJ carried her in the midst of the crowd, with no familiar faces around, she whimpered for 'Mae Mae Mae Mae Mae"
She was so busy at the airport & excited with WJ that she forgo her nap and was so tired that she fell asleep the moment she touched my shoulder. After we sent WJ off, I had my first drive with JY as the only passenger. WJ's parents were a tad bit nervous as they were afraid JY would scream non-stop again without me at the back to assure her. Well, it was a short 10mins drive to my parents' place and the little one dozed of the moment i drove out the airport's carpark! haha...so it was a peaceful and lovable sight in her carseat.
Oh, and we cannot resist but bought a new maxi-cosi carseat for her in preparation of the road trip up to malaysia & she's settling in quite comfortably in there & took quite a few naps already!
WJ spends the most of his time during the 2 weeks in transit back home..cos he flew off again on 18 Oct and would be away for a month plus.
I'm so glad he had time for his little girl and have nice bonding sessions every morning and evening. They got so attached to each other that i'm happy to leave them alone.
JY has accumulated quite a number of bruises she can put a boy to shame. Her most bruises appears on her cheeky cheek, as my mum said,..cos its the most prominent part of her face.
And she acquired the skills to really roll around her cot and is quite a monkey, knocking herself time and again against the cot railings hard, sometimes just stunned and got over it in 5 secs
Her top 2 teeth are out too quite a while ago...she's much better at coping with the sprouting teething process, sometimes just gnawed a bit harder at our fingers and drooled slightly more.I'm actually quite pleased as she's not a drooler, like those constant salivating kind. She's the 'a little trail at the corner of the mouth and that's all for the day'
My grandpa couldn't be happier to see JY and kept holding her hand and playing with her. My sister make a photo frame complete with 5 different photos of JY
We were rather worried as our 90 yrs old grandfather was trying to crawl on the floor with her!
Of course, and all the grand-aunties who cannot resist planting kisses on her faces & carrying her around and playing with her
JY was happy to see young children and couldn't sit still that we can't even get a decent photo of her as she seems blurred with her constant movement.
There was this particular period when i worked late for consecutive 2 nights & leave early for work, i barely saw JY for 20 total waking mins. My mum told me that she's searching for me the 1st evening but didn't make a fuss, come the second night, she stayed awake till 8pm even though her last nap was 3pm and was super tired. She cried and cried and wouldn't sleep but was so tired. My mum guessed at last that she could be missing me and pacified her "mummy is away at work, she'll come back tonight to sleep with JY, ok..be a good girl and go to sleep". still sobbing away, she relented and fell asleep.
My heart ached for her and told myself i'll come home everyday. forsaking my social life, just for the sake of my little girl who misses her mummy.
JY has grown a bit since her weight was stagnant at 6.5kg since 6mths. Since then, she has been downing 200 - 250ml for 3 milk feeds and has a big bowl of cereal for breakfast as well as porridge for lunch and dinner. Of course, she has her off-days when she refused her cereal/porridge or the occasional milk.
She's more or less quite stabilised in her night sleep, dozing off between 730 - 830pm, 7pm if she's super tired or din nap as much in the day. The best part is, she manages to sleep through at LAST! and wakes up for her morning milk at 630/7am, sometimes at 430am or so, which i don't really mind, after all that i went through in the first 6mths, this is a piece of cake!
She'll curl up her legs when having her milk
In the morning, she'll almost wake up earlier than i do, most of the time, waking up with a smile or clambering up at the cot rail & try to wake me up by calling out to me, then grinned at me from her cot.
She loves her bath and get so excited at the sight of the bathwater and can't wait to get in and refuse to get out, crying EVERY time we dry/lotion/diaper cream/put diaper/change her and it doesn't help that she's constantly struggling to oppose our actions. it's a workout on its own.
Then it's sending off the working folks....it's a daily routine never to be missed as we love to see her perky smiles & happy face. sometimes she waved goodbye from our unit,
sometimes she takes the elevator ride with us, walking the short pathway with us.
Recently, she took a liking to 'chasing' birds, she'll get all excited when she sees birds on the ground and chuckled so loudly when my mum would carry her & chase after the birds at the void deck or grass patch, attracting stares and amusement from public again...which she's so oblivious to.
WJ has been away almost for 10 days and I thought, ok it'll be no difference to those times he's away in camp for a long period and i could handle it. The first day is ok but on the 2nd and 3rd day onwards, i started to miss him plenty plenty and can't wait for him to be back. Can't imagine when he'll be away to Oz for 30 over days..sigh....
it was so sweet for him to buy clothes for JY even though it's a rural town........no factory outlet or whatsoever, so no cheap cheap bags for me...
aww...so cute and a lovely dusky pink suits JY's skintone...
JY has a weird habit of drinking milk...we have only ONE try to feed her and it must be perfect..in terms of angle positioning from bottle to her mouth, accuracy of aiming the teat directly into her mouth, how tight the bottle screw is, the temperature of the milk....because if any of these are not aligned, she would refuse to take the bottle again...and furthermore, she would refuse again if she got choke if the flow is too fast, suck too hard if flow is too slow.
We were quite nervous to feed her everytime as we try to perfect the feed each time, it can get quite stressful. It affects the type of teats that i purchased and should it be M or L or Y? 0-6mths or advnace towards 6-18mths? standard or wide bottles?
This little one have to watch us prepare her milk, often urging us to pick up her bottle and direct us to the kitchen using her body movement, watch us pour water, formula, stirred and would not let up until she had the milk.
What was satisfying at the end is when she finished the whole bottle 200ml or sometimes even more and gave a loud burp and the little one is ready for bed....
A month ago, we visited Ion Orchard one sat morning and we had fun dressing JY up... She finally wore shoes for the first time, the shoes bought by my sis even before i was married.... Now JY can associate outings with us dressing up and is super-excited
She refused food when she's over-excitedly with new environment and she has a keen obervation as if she's absorbing the sights and sounds of her surroundings...
JY kept sucking onto WJ's hands non-stop and attempted to bite him...and her silly father actually enjoyed it! but of cos i forbid it, as she may develop a biting habit and proven true when she chomped down on me later that evening!
JY finally reluctant took her first crawl on all fours. She clumsily pawed her way at the living area, yet again in front of her doting grandparents....previously she managed to do animal crawl position (on both her feet & hands, pose like a small hill) and wriggled on her stomach backwards, never forward. She is never a lover of this position and she minimised her time needed to be on all fours. She'll also convert to her favourite standing position or take a huge step forward with her tiny feet, of course with support of a nearby adult most of the time, my poor mum), hunched over the little conqueror.
Her curious eyes caught hold of something and she now kept looking up...
until she nearly tipped over all the time and rest on our hands so can she can take a longer (& more comfortable) look
Now, she venture actively in search of new territories to conquer, starting from the living room to the dining hall to all the rooms...and she has discovered the love for tiny black holes at her height, the dreaded power sockets....
There was this time i caught sight of her, still buckled in this seat but she reached out so far forward that her head was touching the floor & her outstretched hands to reach for a toy, that her butt & legs(upturned) were only visible from the kitchen...sigh, smells like the start of trouble....
