My First Concert
Every single person reaction was the same when they knew i went to his concert, it was a repetitive of "Har! You going to Guo Fu Cheng's concert ah!"*hold-belly laugh* Well, i was thinking why not? since its his last concert before he concentrate on acting, he's cute & dance pretty well.
I initially thought it would be crowded like a soccer match at National Stadium, squeezy, long queues. On the contrary, it was a pretty decent experience! Polite ushers, short & neat queues, clean toilets! Though i was reminded very much of the last time i stepped into Indoor Stadium doing a mass display event...eekk...
Thanks to my 2 colleagues who insisted i sit between them so they can influence me to shout, scream & wave together (they anticipated I would stay stoned throughout),I enjoyed their company & they even brought along the clapper stars (selecting 3 diff colours & brght extra batteries) frm Nat Day to wave along to..hah..i know a bit childish but its fun!

Then it finally started with him starting with a 'trendy' version of "Dui Ni Ai Bu Wan' and we excitedly sung heartily along! For a moment, I was transformed to a giggly 16-yr-old indulging in the concert atmosphere....We were excited, amused & look forward to every change of clothes, from glittering, flamboyant to bare-topped which invited a rush of screaming ladies to the front of stage armed with flashing cameras.
A let-down was when he started to converse in CANTONESE! i don't understand!! but my 2 kind friends took turns to translate for me which in the end,I laff at his jokes 10 secs later, alone.
And then my favourite part came when he started to sing his earlier ballets! songs i totally forgot until he started singing them, songs that floated me back to the casettes days & his floppy hair, easily 15 yrs ago....so i took these photos to show my sister & reminisces those times we listend & sung all his songs. We genuinely liked his ballets & I started to realise..Hey, his songs are actually quite decent!

so yea, Revelation : After ten over years of denial....yes, i admit i like guo fu cheng's songs
Adventure Race?
How can i forget about this! Yes, this year, ZXL, instructor & me reminisces about our hilarious & fun-packed participation in last year's Adventure Race. This year we supported CJ & HCM in this year's cos 3 of us really don wanna re-enacted what happened to us...
I joined them only at Kallang to see them run & kayak....

THen It poured!!! Relentless & mercilessly at the participants...

& the 'never-say-die' supporters whipped out our umbrellas....ZXL & Lulu smiling so happily....(w HCM in the background)

ok lah, got 100plus..should be happier

Then we changed place to wait for them, under sheares bridge - see how strong the wind & rain is

ZXL went looking for them in an umbrella...poor girls were all drenched

And more smiles from the supporters (now CJ is the background)

ZXL still manages to pose while driving...

See, which other team gets good support crew that provides well-rounded coverage of the Race :)
This year's NDP Preview @Marina Promenade
It was a little strange, the place where i usually u-turn when i was doing my jogs at SSC, now i get to view NDP from the seating gallery, overlooking Marina Bay, the stage.
Thanks to Mrs Mah, i get to see the first NDP at the floating platform! at first i wasn't interested to squeeze with thousands of kiasu S'poreans to view wat i called it 'boring formation of people in different outfits'. BUT, i was curious to see how they will utilise the sea backdrop as i saw some of their rehearsals from my office bldg & it was already impressive.
We met bright & early at 330pm like any kiasu S'porean and made our way to the green seats, we got like row 34 which is really quite near the front! so enthusiastically, began the 'ra-ra' by 5 bouncing emcees getting us to wave our clappers & stars. i quite enjoyed the mood and i was singing and singing by myself, and i found myself singing along to the kids around me, not one adult sang as loud as me...bleah....and when it came to the 'oldie' songs, i was maybe one of the few who mouthed the words (cos the kids din learn those at schools)
My favourite was seeing the apache streaking past, chinook flying by with the HUGE flag, the troops storming amongst the spectators stand, the helicopter & navy boats performing out at the Bay, making sharp turns, the commandos rappelling from sheares bridge.
Then came the beautiful part... brightly lit balloons floating out at the sea..like dancing jellyfishes...so romantic! and by dusk, everyone was waving their clappers with sparkling lights, its so magical how lights can make a difference! Fireworks were released frm 3 of Shentons' tallest building. Its really no holds bar for this year's NDP. I had no regrets coming to NDP Preview & was glad that Mrs Mah invited me along...
All i can think of at the end of the day is the NDP Exco is gonna get a promotion & pay raise...
