Cannot resist but putting JY in more adorable clothes, surprisingly most are either gifts or hand-me-downs....there's no time for ugly clothes.........
This pastel green duckie dress is bought by Grandma & Aunty Lei from HK....
Flipping Over
Lil JY has always been like a jack-in-the-box, and has spring coils for legs...so it's no surprise that she turned right & left all the time...my dad was all too willing to lend a hand for the final tip over on her stomach. then one fine day, he proudly announced to me that 'your daughter has roll over herself! and you have me to thank for that!', chuckling gleefully away......we witness her clumsy rolling moves (always to her left) and left hand stuck underneath. The next day, she flipped so easily and so fast! and she practiced this to perfection whenever she's 1)bored- and that happens all the time when we left her alone 2) at night when she's (and us) supposedly asleep. So, this happened when we left her in her cot & not more than 5mins later, she yelled and we are on our way to rescue her when we saw this....Thursday, May 21, 2009
Work
I really dread to go work even though i'm on 3 days work-week, this arrangement will end come June...I felt relief to have 4 months of maternity & some $ from govt, as compared to mothers who enjoyed only 2 or 3 mths of maternity previously, how did they manage to go back to work feeling so tired & not rested? now i wonder are those mcys policymakers all men and do not understand the needs of mothers? how about longer maternity leave & have shorter work week, start at 10am, end at 4pm so mothers are not so frazzled and stress.
Now i'm struggling to have a consistent pump routine at work which is proving to be futile. I was so adamant about scheduling my mtgs AROUND my pump- time and my colleague told me in horror that i can't do that, i must lead my life as usual and schedule the pump-time around my mtgs instead. so often, you will see me scurrying along the corridor with the heavy backpack. The backpack is so heavy to lug around, to & fro work, to meetings with partners & all, really wonder how long i can last with the work schedule & sometimes i go to meeting venues where there's no nursing room. On top of that, i'm hungry constantly and need to have my mid morning & afternn snacks.
As JY is still refusing the bottle, I will hastily feed her slightly after 7am before getting ready to work & it's always a mad dash home at 6pm, bathe, settle the expressed milk, wash bottles then feed her slightly after 7pm. and she still wakes up at night sometimes to feed or cry at least twice. Weekends are reserved to go back in-laws place and catch up with WJ & have some quality family togetherness.
I'm still so tired and litle wonder that mothers have absolutely no time for social life. I'm no longer a light sleeper & i nod off to sleep at least once a day at work.

Father-Daughter Bonding sessions
In the morning, it's such a joy to see little JY kicking happily and we'll always put her on our bed to play with her before her morning bath. Can already see where JY get her monkey antic genes from...
After the bath, he still play with JY...and this is little JY's third attempt to stand up from a lying down position and already getting a bit grumpy........
Later in the afternoon, WJ still in the mood to play with JY while changing her diaper...

U-Turn
it's been a habit for JY to indulge in a bit of self-pity before yelling for attention..the thing is everyone just loves her expression when she turn down her mouth in a u-turn shape. It's both hilarious & at the same time, makes you wanna pick her up & comfort her in your armsFashionista Babes
Me & Lil JY waiting for WJ to come pick us up to attend a wedding dinner..so happy to dress her up & me too...but i realise i can't apply perfume or my usual make up after having her.. perfume cos she's always licking or sucking my arms & shoulders so can't have her taking in all those chemicals...make-up cos it really is hard to apply & take it off when she's crying for your attention & you are perspiring buckets..no point...
Looking contented in a uber-cute orange & pink dress from Ah-kim..........

Tropical Island Fun
Yiyi & Jiu jiu yet again bought another toy for Jingyi! This time, it's a large playgym, tropical theme complete with monkey with bananas & coconut trees.....
Family's favourite is this big big mirror(above in black & white stripes with orange trimmings) that plays catchy little jingles when kicked or shaken. My favourite is this tummy cushion, where i can lie her down & watch her struggle to get up in amusement.
Mo more new toys for lil CSB for a lonnnggg longggg time....

My love for food
shows in the nicknames that i have given her so far......When she's barely a mth old, we nicknamed her cream cracker as she smells like one...
then older, she weighs exactly like a 3kg pack of rice.......then more recently Cha Sha Bao. Also, other folks also called her hamburger face, chicken drumstick thigh, toes like grapes....
Besides the Cow.......
JY recognises 'Maternal Grandma' & 'Maternal Grandpa' * jealous jealous* My sister recommend to put my photo besides the cow, anyway me & the cow both produce milk now...no differenceI discovered how she manage to do the 180degree turn - she lift both legs up in the air (like adults do leg raises) then do a quick twist of her waist & bum! Now she manage to turn 90degree left, go back original, then 90degree right. her actions are so forceful that the whole cot will move along with the wheels......
And she's starting to show interest in flipping to her side while in the day chair........She kicks excitedly whenever we flip the pages of her books...My mum also said JY is laughing more too. She prefers to sit or stand on our laps rather than lying down flat on her back. She is amused by the dancing pineapple lantern from the CNY deco & waving plants outside my flat.
I have this feeling that my mum will never remove the cartoon cow & pineapple lantern for a loonng loonnng time
Another Jab in the Bum
It was time for the third jab since JY was born and i was rather sure she'll scream the clinic down again.....Dr Loke was nice, examing JY's head and body & asking about her general well-being. Dr Loke pinched a chunk a JY's bum bum & inserted the needle, me & WJ waited with bated breath but lil JY were none too concerned and went about her usual business of checking out the room's surroundings!SHE DIN CRY AT ALL!!!!
You fiesty little girl...........
