姨姨's Bali Wedding - Day 1

Everyone from me, my family, to my aunties, cousins were all so hyped up for The Trip! It was a first for our extended family to go overseas somewhere, first for JY to travel via airplane, first for my family with WJ & KT along. I'm excited because it's to BALI, my favourite regional destination! La-la-la....!

I started preparing for JY & ourselves like weeks before, mentally doing a checklist every week. Digging out new clothes for JY bought months ago, 90% of the clothes are brand-new.

JY all dressed up for the flight and anticipated a big adventure as she saw the turn out at the airport.

At the departure hall, rare monent of JY allowing Aunt Jee to carry her and she made the most of it and nonetheless, plaster JY with her red lipstick stains. JY still entertaining everyone with her popeye look. Sighting a big big plane, she gestured with a loud "Eeeeee"

The flight was initially quite worrisome with JY. She embarked the plane with a huge dose of curiosity & excitement at 530pm, of course dinner is a negligible issue compared to this big adventure, her porridge went cold then stale then into the dustbin. The take-off was fine with her checking everything out, then i guess the pressure building up her ears were too strange. She howled for a full 10mins (then it seems like 10hrs), then wet her pants...changing her diapers become such a nightmare with 2 frantic parents trying to quick and a howling toddler. She was finally pacified by sucking on her milk bottle and promptly fell asleep..YAY! i got some time to see the inflight entertainment and settled her down the seat in between WJ & me. She only woke up 20mins before landing, and fussing was minimal.

Because of 'connections', we were given VIP passage, so little queuing at customs with a otherwise small mishap, someone from KT's family was sent back as her passport were less than 6mths and we waited for an hour before being sent on the way back to the Estate.

Khayangan Estate, Uluwatu
It was lovely stepping into the sanctuary after a not so lovely flight & 45mins drive. The windy pavement and smell of grass filled our nose the moment we stepped out the car. The air was tranquil and we can see twinkling stars and this pavilion loomed up ahead of us. It was a welcome sight and offer a slight reprieve from the flight.
