Working
Nearly 2 weeks i have been working..change of office environment- no longer do i walk some steps into my office, now it involves an elevator & an irritating pass which i have to bring along everywhere, if not, i have to wait for people to 'rescue' me else i will be locked out of my office. BUT i have a fantastic view from my level, especially from the pantry area ( which is a HUGE difference from the watering hole back in SSC). It's open concept, no partition walls, but the whole office was SO quiet that i was practically whispering the first week cos i was too embarassed to talk at normal volume.
change of colleagues - How i MISS everyone from office, save for von lah..she's the constant reminder of how fun the group of gals back in SSC and how young at heart & dressing & appearance everyone is at SSC....
change of lunch culture - I REFUSE to use tissue paper to 'chop' seats....the lunch traffic was horrible but variety & quality of food is excellent tho pricier.
rush hour jam - mrt is either packed or VERY packed. Everyone is just marching in one direction (depending whether AM or evening) and I have become just one of the many of them. miss seeing the trees and bushes of Kallang.
So how's my life after i started working..well..i have discovered work is still work and still face the usual fatigue & tiredness at the end of the day. I enjoyed my weekends more cos now i clearly distinguish between Mon-Fri & Sat/Sun, its not as fun as you think when everyday is akin to a weekend. Also willing to spend a little more knowing my account will get top up soon...and not worry about penny-pinching & not contributing to the households expenses.
