Truckload of Patience
i'm the most impatient person ard, constantly striving to settle everything at top-speed and utmost efficiency. With a baby, its their tempo that matters...I was constantly counting down every minute so as to finish nursing, it's like watching grass grow...JY took 40mins to an hour to finish nursing in the 1st month, with burping and nappy changing it stretches to close to 1.5hr and it's getting ready for the next feed...
Discovered that burping is an impt process after finishing a feed, JY NEEDS to burp, otherwise she would cry with the excess gas inside. I have tried every possible way to burp a baby, sitting up, lying on stomach and over shoulder, lying her down for a while and tilt her fwd, backwd frm side to side, handstrokes i hv tried gentle patting to the heavier cupping of hand to upward stroking and she still refuse to burp. At times, i end up with regurgitated milk on my sleeves, shoulder, bed, pillow, floor.....
Do a Proper Poop...I tried to "mmhhh" JY to poop and decide there's no more after a few mins and change a clean diaper. Wrong move. Immediately she poop again when i carried her...there was once i changed 3 diapers consecutively cos i din do a proper 'mmhh" job. I learn to wait for her to finish ard 10mins before changing.
Babies don't sleep peacefully, they are wakeful and full of funny noises....it's so tough to let them go to sleep, slowly they dirft in and out of sleep, mine does that with lots of cries, whether she's sleepy or waking up, she cries in frustration. Lots of cuddling, pacing up and down, carrying her in all sorts of positions to soothe her to sleep, even when she dirft off to sleep, its another good 15-20mins of carrying her before she's put down. Even then, she wakes up 5mins/10mins, etc and we have to repeat the process all over again.
